JOB DESCRIPTION Duties:
The Site Engineering and Acceptance department has a rewarding opportunity for an Engineering Professional for its multidiscipline Commissioning Coordination Team. This position will be fulfilling the role of a Commissioning Coordinator and will provide technical coordination of commissioning activities on various complexities of Projects, this role will work with the Generation and Transmission Projects off and on site. This role is completed on behalf of the Construction Manager to plan for and ensure the commissioning activities on site are carried out in compliance with the contract and POR requirements. This position will require the successful candidate to work throughout the Province as required.
Specific Duties include: * Building the Commissioning Plans, ensuring the project testing is completed in accordance with the prepared FITP's based on the accepted Inspection and Test Plans, ensuring that the testing is coordinated and scheduled with the Project Team, Operations, Contractors and the Witness and hold points are captured prior to energization of level 1 to 4 equipment. * The Commissioning Lead acts as a liaison within the Project between Project/Resident Engineering, Commissioning Engineers/POR's, for Commissioning activities and ensures all Testing and Commissioning documents are consolidated and available for deliverables that form part of the Project Acceptance Checklists (Commissioning Plan, Project Test Summary, Commissioning Report).
* A recognized Bachelor or higher degree in a relevant discipline of engineering. Preference will be given to Electrical and Mechanical engineering degree holders and also to those having Utilities Commissioning experience. * Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

* A minimum of eight (8) years relevant engineering experience. * Design and Construction / Field Review experience. * Experience in coordinating a team is preferred. * The Commissioning Lead/Coordinator role requires a good understanding of design process and different Engineering disciplines. * Must have demonstrated strong leadership, excellent communication, project management, computer, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills. * Must have proven expertise in design, testing, commissioning and ability to prioritize, organize multiple project demands while managing a demanding workload, able to prepare and deliver appropriate concise oral/written communication.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION * Please note this is a temporary opportunity for approximately one (1) year. * A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain your Driver's License: Class 5 In Good Standing. * Applicants who do not meet the full qualifications or those with lesser work experience may be considered for a lower level position. * BC Hydro employees will be required to provide proof they are fully vaccinated effective November 22, 2021. Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be required as a pre-condition to employment.
