JOB DESCRIPTION Duties:

* Act in the role of Professional of Record and Owners Engineer. * Engage in the detailed design of electrical utility generation protection and control systems including but not limited to electrical protection, generator and turbine control and monitoring, communication networks, water conveyance and spillway control systems, and Safety Instrumented Systems. * Engage in Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS) compliance activities including NERC CIP. * Develop innovative design solutions for moderately complex problems including modifications or upgrades of legacy systems and applying latest Automation technology as appropriate. * Manage work packages on small to medium sized projects, estimate capital costs and resource requirements, write technical specifications and standards, and provide technical design support during installation and commissioning. * Review work of the project team and of consultants and contractors to ensure accuracy, achievement of required results, and adherence to accepted engineering practice. * Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external colleagues in order to determine relative priorities, assess the impact of work on others, and resolve issues of concern.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering recognized by Canadian Universities. * Four+ years of experience in a relevant engineering field, with 3 years of experience in designing, maintaining, installing and testing hydro-electric or thermal generation equipment. * Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC). Candidate may be considered if eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC). * Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills; communication, organizational and

interpersonal skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and to plan and manage project resources. * Demonstrated ability to prepare technical specifications for tendering, evaluate tenders, and make recommendations for awards is desirable. * Preference will be given to candidates which have extensive practical and strong academic knowledge with: • Governor and exciter specification and integration design • Electrical and non-electrical protections for Generation station equipment • Automation control hardware and software design using Schneider PLCs and HMIs • Functional Safety Systems • MRS compliance including NERC CIP.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION * A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain your Driver's License: Class 5 In Good Standing. * The successful candidate must be willing to occasionally travel and work at various job sites across the province. * Applicants who do not meet the full qualifications or those with lesser work experience may be considered for a lower level position. Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be required as a pre-condition to employment.
