Job Description

6-month contract Platform Engineer role with a global retail organization with an on-site work environment.

Platform Engineer with a focus on applications, mainly SharePoint among other M365 applications.
Enterprise organization headquartered in Vancouver.
On site work arrangement, 4 days a week in office.

What & Why:
Due to a leave, we are looking for a contractor to assist our client on a 6-month contract. The work in this role is application-focused, centered on SharePoint administration and M365 platform configuration, operating alongside a separate infrastructure team that manages retention policies and the underlying M365 environment. There is some ambiguity in the division of responsibilities between the two teams, and the role requires the judgment to navigate that independently, apply best practices without established guidelines, and make sound decisions on scope and ownership. Scripting and automation skills are required, and a broad background across multiple enterprise applications is considered a strong asset given the team's ongoing intake of new tooling. Current project work includes AI pilots across Copilot and ChatGPT, as well as active security remediation efforts. The role carries a mentorship and technical leadership component, candidates are expected to provide guidance and serve as an escalation point in addition to contributing hands-on.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily in office work environment with 4 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

5–7 years of platform or shared services engineering experience with strong SharePoint administration skills.
Scripting and automation experience; SharePoint integrations experience is a strong asset.
Broad M365 application background with demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on new tools.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments; prior mentorship or technical leadership experience is an asset.

Compensation:
This role pays between $60-70 per hour.
