Job Description

6-month Data Engineer contract role with a team focused on delivering marketing tech solutions.

6-month Data Engineer contract.
Great chance to be part of a large-scale business transformation.
Primarily in office work environment, 4 days a week in office.

What & Why:
As a result of growth our client is looking to add a contract data engineer to their growing martech team, which manages the data infrastructure that powers personalized guest communications and marketing analytics. This group has just completed the GA4 integration, and they are looking for support with the GA4 analytics data share with their Snowflake instance as well as other support in Snowflake data engineering work supporting martech initiatives. The work centers on building and maintaining data pipelines across a stack that includes GCP, Azure, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake, with a current focus on pipeline modernization using Databricks Delta Live Tables and Unity Catalog. You'll also contribute to publishing secure data views to their Enterprise Data Exchange for consumption by internal teams, and support CI/CD processes, production monitoring. This is a senior individual contributor role with an expectation that you'll bring technical depth and contribute to knowledge transfer across the team.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work arrangement with 4 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

5+ years of data engineering experience with strong Python (PySpark) and SQL skills
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Snowflake; Azure certification preferred
Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, ADF, or Fivetran, and streaming technologies including Kafka and Spark
Experience with DBT/DLT, Medallion Architecture, and CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps; Terraform or ARM template experience is a plus
Tech stack is below
Orchestration tools - ADF, AirFlow, FiveTran
Languages - SQL, Python
Data Modeling - Star and Snowflake Schema
Streaming - Kafka, EventHub, Spark, Snowflake Streaming

Compensation:
This role pays between $75-90 per hour.
