ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE

Established  24 years ago, FamilySmart enhances the mental health of children, youth and young adults by helping their family and other caring adults. They know that children and young people do better when the adults who care about them are supported. Their 2 main programs are the Parent Peer Support Program and Health Literacy Program which includes Child & Youth Mental Health Day, In the Know monthly events and Working Well Together Training. As a sector advocate to government and within the community, FamilySmart knows that children and young people do better when the adults, professionals, services, and systems who care about and for them are connected, integrated, and supported.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall impact and performance of the organization with the mandate to support families and other caring adults with greater knowledge and capacity to best support the mental health of children, youth, and young adults. The CEO works with the Senior Leadership team to oversee strategic and operational leadership including programs and services, financial sustainability, fund development, and administration. The CEO develops and advances relationships with funders, government, and community partners to enhance quality services and sector advocacy. The CEO is also responsible for setting, modeling and sustaining the unique and healthy culture of the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative and strategic leader who is dedicated to the non-profit sector, sector advocacy, and organizational advancement. The ideal candidate for the position, will have demonstrated experience leading and growing a community-centered organization with a mental health focus. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years in a senior management position with an advanced degree (in a relevant field). The ideal candidate will bring experience in team leadership, budget oversight, government relations, and community engagement in addition to demonstrated knowledge of non-profit board governance, strategic planning, and fund development. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered, including that built through direct or indirect lived experience with child and youth mental health and/or substance use.

The salary range for the position is $140,000 - $160,000 per year, supplemented by a comprehensive total compensation plan.
