ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager of Financial Services, the Director, Financial Planning and Reporting is a key member of the Finance leadership team and a lead contributor to the District’s financial planning process. The position is responsible for the oversight and administration of the District’s financial planning, reporting, and advisory functions; software support and design improvement; and the education of staff and Council on financial planning policies and procedures. The Director will provide strategic leadership and effective management of the Financial Planning team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic senior finance professional with strong financial planning experience in local or regional government and/or the broader public sector. The successful candidate will be bondable, possess a CPA designation, and have advanced education credentials in a related field. The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience, including leading a diverse team in the oversight of financial planning including long-range planning, debt servicing, asset management, and reserve continuity planning. An equivalent combination of technical skills, experience, and education will be considered.

The salary for this position is $131,747.73-$144,777.72, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package, Municipal Pension Plan, as well as a fortnight schedule (70 hours bi-weekly), which allows for an earned day off every second week. A hybrid/flexible work from home arrangement may be considered in accordance with the District’s Remote Work Policy.
