NO HIDING, NO SEEKING: LET THEM FIND YOU

BCjobs.ca launches resume contest to help job seekers find career opportunities

VANCOUVER -- An improving economy and movement in the job market spells opportunity for BC job seekers. As companies again turn their attention to growth,  BCjobs.ca, Western Canada’s largest career website, is providing an incentive to job seekers to take advantage of today’s improving job market.

For the month of February, BCjobs.ca is encouraging job seekers to upload or update their resume on the site, giving them exposure to over 4,000 client companies. At the end of the month, one lucky job seeker will be chosen at random and will win a complimentary career consultation with Michael Howard, resume expert and and author of Alternative Resumes.

“An improving economy is providing employers the confidence to hire additional staff to manage business growth and proceed with postponed projects,” said Ryan St. Germaine, president of BCjobs.ca. “Many professionals who remained in their jobs throughout the downturn despite being overworked and under-appreciated are starting to look for new employment and we wanted to provide them an incentive to get them on their way.”

Job seekers can create their profile by visiting www.bcjobs.ca/resume. An online resume builder and professional career advice is also available for individuals looking to perfect their job search toolbox.  St. Germaine adds, “Opportunity exists for those individuals who maximize all areas of their job search. By coupling search efforts with a posted resume, job seekers improve their chances of getting noticed and landing the job.”
