Senior Accountant
Location: Delta, BC
Full-Time | 100% On-Site
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually based on experience
Our client, a growing company in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Finance & Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys full-cycle accounting, team leadership, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, bank reconciliations, accruals, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of 2–3 accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and professional development.
- Oversee accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, cash applications, and customer account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Dispatch, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve accounting and billing issues.
- Prepare government remittances, including GST/PST and other regulatory filings.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across multiple business entities.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) preferred
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong full-cycle accounting knowledge
- Previous experience supervising or leading an accounting team
- Experience within transportation, logistics, trucking, or supply chain industries is considered a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and general accounting principles
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and experience using ERP, TMS, or other accounting systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
