Who- the Company:
Our client is a high profile and reputable global public company headquartered right here in Vancouver. They are the world’s leader in a fascinating niche industry and they have operations in over a dozen countries and employ over 1000 people. The corporate office has a fast-paced environment and a corporate culture that emphasizes learning & development, collaboration, teamwork, and high performance. For example, there are company sports teams, community and charitable initiatives, and company social events. This company truly values their employees and provide great perks that promote a healthy work life.
What- the Role:
We are seeking a new Internal Auditor who will support the planning and execution of the organization’s internal audits in the Vancouver HQ as well as at the various regional offices around the globe. We are seeking an intelligent, curious, driven, and well-rounded accounting professional who takes pride in producing top quality work and who enjoys collaborating with a variety of people across all departments of an organization. People tend to stay at this company for a long time because there is great opportunity for learning and career growth.
After a few years of solid work in the Internal Auditor position, the incumbent could explore a variety of other internal opportunities within finance & accounting, or even in other departments. Being in internal audit at this company is a unique chance to get to know the complex global business at a very deep level. Please note the job involves international business travel.
Swim Recruiting will provide interested candidates with a thorough job description.
Who- the Candidate:
We are looking for designated CPAs (or almost designated) who are personable communicators, and who have the drive and interest to learn the company’s business inside-out. Detail-orientation and an analytical mindset are paramount in this role, as is a calm, cool, and collected work style. Our client has a very high performing accounting & finance department, and we are seeking someone who can seamlessly integrate with this highly collaborative team and reciprocate help to colleagues. Excellent system skills are crucial, and experience using an ERP is an asset.
- CPA Designation – or on track to achieve designation soon.
- Excellent auditing skills, including experience with global audits for public companies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Understanding of relevant legislation such as SOX, PCAOB, COSO, and COBIT
- 3+ years in accounting & audit- within public practice and/or industry
Where- Headquarters:
Downtown Vancouver. Close to public transit and many amenities like restaurants and shops. Once they’ve trained up, the Internal Auditor can choose to work from home 2 days a week.
Where- Work Travel:
As with most internal audit positions, this role will entail travel to all of the company’s operational sites- in North America, Europe, Asia, etc. SWIM will provide more insight into the frequency and length of business trips, but as of now we believe it to be no more than once a quarter, usually for 5 to 10 days at a time. The travel schedule is for the most part well-planned out in advance so the Internal Auditor can take care of any preparation needed in their personal life.
How Much:
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, skills, education, and if/when CPA designation was achieved- the range on base salary is around $88,000 to $95,000. Additionally, this company provides an excellent total compensation package including a very generous amount of paid time off, a healthy bonus, a pension plan, and excellent benefits- please discuss further with SWIM.
When & How to Apply:
This search is moving extremely quickly! SWIM will be presenting profiles directly to the hiring team, and interviews kick off with the company in mid-to-late January. If you already have a Recruiter at SWIM, please reach out very soon. If you do not yet have a contact at Swim Recruiting, please hit 'APPLY' to send us your resume. Thank you!
