Fantastic finance leadership opportunity for a business based in beautiful Vernon, BC. Working closely with others on the executive leadership team. Fantastic role for a natural finance leader who is adaptable, confident, and self-motivated and who also loves identifying opportunities to improve and innovate accounting & finance processes.

WHO- the Company:
SWIM is recruiting on behalf of a well-established business based in beautiful Vernon. The company already has mature operations and they are continuing to expand the business, hence this role. The company has an entrepreneurial and well-managed work environment. This well-diversified enterprise has operations in a few interesting, ever-changing, and fast-paced sectors.

WHAT- the Role:
Our client is seeking a Director, Accounting & Finance. Reporting formally into Divisional CEO and functionally into a Group CFO. This is a well-rounded and diverse role, spanning financial reporting, financial planning/analysis/modeling, overseeing operational accounting & corporate accounting, tax, cash management & treasury, risk management, financial systems, strategic business support, etc. Leading a team of 5+, including a Controller. SWIM will provide qualified and interested candidates with a more detailed job description.

WHO- the Candidate:
We are seeking an entrepreneurial finance leader who has a history of improving, building and scaling accounting & finance functions.

Candidates will have their Canadian CPA designation (or International equivalent), along with relevant post-secondary education in finance, commerce, and/or business administration.
10+ years of relevant and progressive experience in accounting & finance, with at least 5 years in people management functions.
Plenty of experience in both finance (FP&A, treasury, etc.) and accounting (reporting, tax, etc.)
Experience working for a multi-entity and complex company, ideally with 300 to 1000 employees.
Excellent leadership, mentorship, and coaching abilities, with experience leading teams of 5+ people.
Experience in a project-based and/or people-centric sector is highly preferred- for example, retail, hospitality, real estate, tourism, etc.
Systems savvy, with the ability to spearhead the continuous improvement and modernization of accounting & finance systems and tools.

Please note that we can only consider candidates who are living in or commuting-distance-from Vernon or who can fully and permanently relocate to Vernon within a month of job offer will be considered.

WHERE:
Based in beautiful Vernon in BC’s Okanagan Valley. This is a full-time in-office role, with occasional hybrid. Open to individuals from anywhere in Canada who are very serious about fully relocating within 4 weeks of a job offer.

HOW MUCH:
Base salary in line with the finalist’s skills and experience, likely in the range of $140,000 to $180,000 plus bonus, benefits, vacation, PD support, and other employee perks & discounts.
