Senior Accountant - Vancouver (Hybrid)
Excellent opportunity for a seasoned Senior Accountant to join a high-growth, globally recognized legal technology company. The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will support the Controller and senior finance leadership in managing key financial processes and providing insights that drive business growth. This role is best suited for candidates with a blend of public practice and industry accounting experience, who are comfortable handling both technical accounting and operational finance responsibilities in a high-growth environment.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the full financial close cycle, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Overseeing journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Supporting complex accounting issues, including business combinations, cross-border intercompany transactions, and public company reporting requirements.
  • Preparing consolidated financial statements, trial balances, supporting schedules, and working papers.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors, maintaining accurate audit documentation.
  • Managing the revenue cycle, including reconciliations, billing adjustments, and refund support.
  • Conducting ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements, including automation, standardization, and internal control enhancements.
Who - the Candidate:
We are seeking a CPA-designated candidate with a strong blend of public practice and industry experience, candidates straight from public practice only are unlikely to be successful. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Experience in multi-entity, cross-border accounting, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
  • Exposure to public company reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with SaaS, technology, or other publicly traded companies.
  • Skilled in NetSuite or similar ERP systems, with advanced Excel capabilities for reporting, analysis, and automation.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong partnership and communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders, including finance, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of providing insights that support strategic business decisions.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives, automation, or system upgrades.

How Much:
Highly competitive compensation in the range of $90,000 – 110,000 CAD + Equity, depending on experience and qualifications. The total compensation package includes:
  • Health & dental benefits.

  • Unlimited PTO, with a minimum of 20 business days.
  • Flexible work arrangements.

Where:
Vancouver, hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of 2 days in-office per week for candidates living within 80km. Candidates must be adaptable to occasional early morning or evening meetings to accommodate different time zones.
