Role Overview

Collaborating with the Process Lead, Full Cycle Accounting, the Senior Accountant, ERP Implementation will play a key role in supporting the SAP S/4HANA implementation. This position will collaborate closely with Finance Process Leads to review and validate system develop and configurations, ensuring alignment with Teck's Red Dog Mine (RDO) requirements.

Key responsibilities include performing data cleansing and validation, supporting testing activities during SIT and UAT, and providing business logic to ensure functional specifications are accurately configured and refined within the system.

Additionally, the role will contribute to discussions on adapting processes. It will support operational readiness activities and assist in developing and delivering training. This ensures a smooth transition for end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Review SAP functionality to confirm alignment with mine site management accounting requirements.
  • Validate that proposed SAP processes meet site requirements and align with industry standards.
  • Identify and bring up only critical gaps that cannot be resolved within standard templates.
  • Prepare, validate, and migrate financial and operational data into SAP.
  • Complete testing to ensure data integrity and process accuracy during implementation.
  • Act as site lead for SAP transition, ensuring requirements are met and issues resolved.
  • Document new processes and workflows in SAP for management accounting.
  • Support training and mentorship for site personnel during implementation.
  • Collaborate with corporate and site teams to resolve system-related issues and improve workflows.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Requires short term travel to Red Dog Alaska mine site at the start of the contract to support onboarding and build site relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A CPA designation or enrolled in the CPA program (not mandatory but preferred)
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in financial or management accounting in the mining industry
  • Good understanding of mine site operations and cost accounting processes or ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4 HANA or JDE preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: CAD $95,000 - $118,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
