Job Description
6-month contract Observability Engineer role with a global enterprise organization working within their rapidly growing engineering team.

As a result of investment in technology our global enterprise organization is looking to add an Observability Engineer to their engineering team. The core focus of this role is helping application teams migrate to and adopt Datadog covering APM, infrastructure, serverless, and real user monitoring all while ensuring their standards and best practices are followed throughout. You'll be the bridge between internal engineering teams and vendors like Datadog and Splunk, resolving implementation issues, improving documentation, and empowering end users to get the most out of the observability platform. It's a role that's equal parts technical and collaborative. Its less about building in isolation and more about enabling an entire engineering organization to observe, understand, and improve their systems.

They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all-star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have an in office work arrangement, 4 days a week in office.
You:You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Datadog and Splunk, including APM, infrastructure monitoring, serverless, and RUM, with 2+ years of experience creating rules and advanced logic within observability platforms.
- Proven experience migrating app servers or rolling out mass observability agent updates using automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform, including implementation and configuration within Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and compliance considerations such as PII, CCPA, and GDPR in an enterprise environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, manage vendor relationships, and drive cross-functional projects to completion in an agile environment.
This role pays between $60-70 per hour.
