About the Opportunity

ContainerWest currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Representative to join our team in Vancouver, B.C on a full-time basis. Regular travel within B.C. and occasionally into Alberta is required.

Reporting directly to the President, this role is responsible for growing the business through site visits, networking and outreach, and supporting existing industrial customers by managing inquiries, preparing proposals and quotations, and delivering technical and project coordination support across BC and parts of Alberta.

While no two days will ever be alike in this fast-paced role, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Visiting industrial firms to create awareness of what we offer
  • Managing and responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Preparing detailed proposals, quotations, and technical documentation
  • Supporting industrial customers with tailored technical solutions
  • Coordinating projects from initial inquiry through to completion, ensuring customer requirements are met
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and project records
  • Visiting customers across BC and occasionally Alberta to strengthen relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to grow business
  • Attending industry association events and networking functions
  • Asking strategic market-related questions
  • Managing workload independently while maintaining high service standards
About You

To qualify, you will need a university degree in engineering or a related technical field and a valid driver’s licence with access to your own vehicle. A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a technical sales, application engineering, or industrial-focused role will also be essential.

The following skills and experience would be highly regarded:

  • Work experience in construction, resource industry or industrial environments
  • Experience preparing proposals, quotations, and technical documentation
  • Involvement in industry associations, networking, or market engagement activities
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed documentation

As our ideal candidate, you are naturally curious, proactive, and eager to learn. You thrive in an autonomous role where you can take initiative, manage your own schedule, and engage with customers. You are service-oriented, detail-focused, and commercially aware, with the ability to ask insightful market questions and identify opportunities within existing accounts. You can negotiate, build trust, confidently ask for the order and secure new business.

This is a dynamic, customer-focused sales role suited to someone who enjoys blending engineering knowledge with relationship management and project coordination — a self-starter who takes ownership, supports customers, and contributes meaningfully to the growth of the business.

About the Benefits

In exchange for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary of $70k-$110k, negotiable based on skills and experience along with the following excellent package:

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits through Manulife
  • Negotiable vacation time
