Job Description
Custom wood component manufacturer is looking for an experienced CNC operator with programming skills.
Key qualifications for this position:
- Must be able to program in standard CNC+CAD software (eg. MasterCAM or similar) to create simple CAD drawings and generate tool paths for parts as well as some fixtures to hold parts for machining.
- Must have experience machining wood in a variety of species using standard tooling and automated or semi-automated production machinery.
- Must be able to program and operate a nesting CNC router such as Biesse, Morbidelli, Thermwood, SCM, Homag etc.
- Must be able to balance efficiency, productivity and quality factors to maximize throughput, material utilization, and tool life while preserving overall profitability.
- Must be able to maintain the safety of yourself and others at all times through best practices on the production floor and in the workplace in general. (Social distancing practices are mandatory at all times.)
- You must be a team player, able to working with our existing operations staff to develop new product opportunities and resolve production challenges.
- Must also be able to occasionally operate a variety of traditional (non-automated) wood processing machinery to achieve overall production goals for the plant.
- The focus of this position is on automated CNC production but some manual machining is occasionally required.
Ideally you have:
- Two years of experience in wood machining in a custom woodwork, mouldings, door, furniture, millwork, closet or other wood product manufacturing environment.
- Some formal training in and at least one year of experience in using a proven CAD/CAM/CNC package (ideally MasterCAM or similar).
NOTE: Please state clearly which machines you have experience with in your application.
This is a stable, full time position working Mon. to Fri. on day shift exclusively.
