Job Title: Summer Program Worker (Group Homes) | #2168
Service Area: Living Options
Location: Vancouver, BC
Term/Status: Temporary Full Time
Start Date: May 15, 2026 (Ending August 31, 2026)
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30-16:00 // 37.5 hours per week 
*Shift times and hours may vary slightly as this position is subject to funding. (min. 30 to max 37.5 hours per week)
Hourly Wage: $22.66 as per the collective agreement

The Role:
This position involves recreational programming, instruction, and assisting with activities of daily living.  It involves representing the Association by participating in community events.Shift schedule are subject to change as program and department needs dictate.

This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Experience in assisting individuals in all aspects of daily living (total personal care, feeding, bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal effectively with behaviours associated with mental health, an asset
  • Post-secondary education or training in a related field
  • Must be between ages of 19-30 at intake time, not hold another full time (30 or more hours) summer job
  • Minimum one year direct experience with people with developmental disabilities
  • Training in behaviour management techniques
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • TB Test Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status

*This position requires Union membership.
