Job Title: FITNESS LEADER (2 Positions) | #2152
Service Area: Vocational & Community Services
Location: Various Day Programs (Vancouver & Richmond)
Start Date: May 11, 2026 (ending August 28, 2026)
Term/Status: Temporary Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-15:00 // 35 hours per week
*Shift times & hours may vary slightly as this position is subject to funding. (min. 30 to max. 37.5 hours per week)
Hourly Wage:
$22.66 

The Role:

Our Community Inclusive Day Programs are dedicated to supporting individuals in gaining greater independence and an improved quality of life. We do this through meaningful participation in community-based social, recreational, and vocational opportunities.

We are seeking Fitness Leaders to enhance these programs by developing and delivering health, wellness, strength, and conditioning activities. Programming is designed for adults of all ages and abilities, and services are offered through a combination of onsite in-person group sessions, virtual classes, and community experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead engaging fitness, wellness, and strength/conditioning classes tailored to diverse abilities.
  • Support participants in achieving personal wellness goals and developing confidence in movement.
  • Contribute to the design, promotion, and delivery of inclusive health and fitness resources.
  • Work collaboratively with a well-established support team to enrich overall day-program services.
  • Foster an environment that encourages social connection, participation, and independence.

Requirements/Education/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education or training in related fields preferred (Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, BCRPA certification, Yoga certification, Dietetics).
  • Must be between ages of 18 – 30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Working knowledge or experience with people in the area of health and wellness.
  • Experience with, or training in the development of class content & implementation, adaptive communication, and positive behaviour support is an asset.
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and use of a car is an asset
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status
