Job Description

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support a large Canadian organization embarking on a major supply chain transformation.

This role will play a key part in helping the supply chain team manage high volumes of vendor sourcing activity, improve procurement strategy, and drive better value from supplier relationships.

You'll work cross-functionally to support operations while identifying opportunities to streamline costs and processes—particularly in corporate travel and system implementation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to define procurement strategies and scopes of work
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including RFPs and RFQs
  • Maintain a robust vendor database and track current contracts
  • Negotiate supplier agreements with a focus on cost savings and service improvements
  • Identify areas for contract optimization across business units for the corporate travel category
  • Manage procurement activities for corporate travel programs (airfare, hotels, car rentals, travel management companies)
  • Serve as a procurement SME for system implementation projects, advising on workflows, approvals, and sourcing strategies
  • Participate in system design sessions to align procurement processes with platform capabilities
  • Support testing, data migration, and training activities related to procurement modules
  • Collaborate with IT and project teams to ensure successful rollout and adoption of new procurement tools
  • Assist in change management and stakeholder engagement throughout implementation phases
  • Document and standardize vendor management and procurement procedures

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing
  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate travel categories
  • Strong track record negotiating vendor and service agreements
  • Experience supporting or leading procurement system implementations
  • Ability to act as a procurement SME on technology or transformation projects
  • Proficiency with Excel and procurement databases
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects with shifting priorities

Remuneration:

$105,000 base salary + strong benefits package
