Job Title: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST Location: Prince Rupert, travel required
Salary: $47.24 0 56.89 per hour Union Grid Level: 18-P-SLP
Terms: Permanent Full Time Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 hours per day
35 hours per week (flexibility to meet client needs)
Benefits: This is a unionized position with salary and benefits subject to the requirements of the BC Government Employees Union’s Collective Agreement.

THE OPPORTUNITY: The North Coast Community Services Society (NCCS) has a position available for a Speech-Language Pathologist in the incredible community of Prince Rupert where adventure abounds. THE JOB: NCCS offers a variety of programs and services to children, youth, and families in Prince Rupert and the wider geographic area that includes Haida Gwaii. As a member of a multi-disciplinary service delivery team, under the supervision of the Team Lead for Goal-Focused Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist develops, implements, and evaluates individually designed programs of intervention to address speech, language, and social communication needs and supports recommendations for related assistive technology, educational, vocational, and recreational recommendations for children and youth with communication disabilities and/or delays in speech and language development. The goal of the SLP program is to help children and youth meet developmental milestones, minimize physical challenges that can impact speech production, enhance social communication success, and improve family community participation through the provision of effective communication strategies.
THE CANDIDATE: NCCS is looking for an individual who holds the fundamental belief that each individual matters and embraces the need to demonstrate compassion while consistently maintaining professional boundaries with employees, clients, community partners, and other stakeholders. As a
member of an energetic team whose mandate is to provide quality assessment and intervention services using culturally inclusive and trauma informed practices, the successful candidate will bring humanity, support, and guidance to families in need, as well as a vision of the future that will address complex community needs, including the use of remote service delivery technologies.
NCCS requires a motivated individual with the following qualifications:
- Successful completion of an entry-to-practice speech-language pathology program
- Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in pediatric SLP service delivery and supervision of a Rehabilitation or Therapy Assistant
Other Requirements:
- Clear Criminal Record Review
- Ability to use standard office and communication technologies and learn new applications
- Physical ability to meet job requirements
- Class 5 driver's license, clear driver's abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle
