Our District & Region:

Cariboo-Chilcotin School District (CCSD) is located in the Central Interior of British Columbia and includes the communities of Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Dog Creek, Horsefly, Likely, Alexis Creek, Tatla Lake, Anahim Lake and Nemiah Valley.  The School District is in a vast, spectacular geographic region of the province and is on the traditional and unceded territories of the Secwepemc, Tsilhqot’in, and Dakelh First Nations.

The main centers of Williams Lake and 100 Mile are centrally located with easy access to the larger centers of Prince George, Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver and Whistler.  Real estate remains affordable across the region and offers a wide range of lifestyle opportunities. 


The Positions (Effective September 1st, 2026):

 

Part-time, temporary effective September 1st, 2026 to the end of Term 1 (November 13th, 2026)

 

 

The Speech Language Pathologist will:

  • provide itinerant speech & language services to several public schools
  • provide consultation, direct service, and home programs where appropriate for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 (with emphasis on the primary grades)
  • complete speech & language screening and assessments using standardized as well as informal measures
  • design and implement intervention strategies for students with communication disorders.  This will include supporting students across a wide spectrum of needs, including those with learning disabilities, autism, and other developmental disabilities. 
  • some students may require various forms of augmentative communication.
  • participate in school-based team meetings
  • provide direction for and work with EA's working in the speech and language program
  • provide information about communication development and disorders to teachers, parents and others in the school setting and in the community   

 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution
  • eligible for certification with speech and Audiology Canada (SAC) and membership with Speech and Hearing BC
  • valid BC Drivers Licence and your own vehicle.  Access to a School District vehicle is provided for longer distances
  • previous experience working in a school setting would be considered an asset
  • previous experience working with First Nations students and families would be considered an asset
  • demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Criminal Record Check is required for employment with any BC School District
  • active registrant of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC)

 

Compensation:

The salary of this assignment is based on our current salary grid and verification of your degree and verification of years of service from previous employers.  The current salary range is $63, 347.00 to $116,190.00 per annum, paid over 10 months.  Benefits (Extended Health, Dental, Life Insurance, Pension) are included with this position, based on the terms in our collective agreement.

Relocation allowance may be offered.
