Senior Manager, Tax (Hybrid)

Location: Greater Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – 3 days in-office)

Salary: $160,000 – $200,000

Overview

Our client, a leading national accounting and advisory firm undergoing significant 30% YOY expansion, is searching for a highly skilled Senior Manager, Tax to join their growing Vancouver practice. Operating within an entrepreneurial meritocracy, you will serve as a key technical authority on complex corporate tax planning, cross-border transactions, inbound corporate expansions, and strategic M&A tax advisory. Reporting directly to the Partner, you will manage client relationships, drive practice growth, and help guide a team of dedicated domestic and offshore tax professionals.

What You’ll Do

Oversee corporate tax and cross-border advisory engagements, M&A structuring, deal due diligence, thin capitalization, and Subsection 88(1)(d) bump planning.
Lead prospective client discovery calls, analyze client business models, and craft sophisticated tax proposals and engagement memos.
Partner directly with client C-suite executives, legal counsel, and operational leaders to execute expansions and financial reorganizations.
Enforce robust risk management standards across all high-complexity advisory files.
Mentor and coach local team members and collaborate with international support resources.
Contribute to practice business development through internal partner referrals and market presence.

Qualifications

CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA) is required.
Full completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
Extensive public practice experience specializing in Canadian corporate tax or international tax.
Strong background in domestic Canadian tax with a desire to broaden into cross-border tax, thin cap rules, withholding taxes, deal structuring, and tax compliance.
Entrepreneurial approach, strong leadership agility, and proven capability to manage fast-paced, multi-faceted projects.
