Role Overview

The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment ensuring Trail hires the best candidate for the right position and serving as a trusted talent acquisition partner to the site by gaining a strong understanding of the operations and their needs.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a detailed-oriented and motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills able to prioritize work and stay organized through competing demands in a fast-paced environment. The ability to work with integrity and professionally manage confidential material is crucial

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment for assigned union and non-unionized positions at Trail Operations including trades, office staff, technical professionals and management ensuring recruitment activities are carried out in compliance with Canadian law
    • Write and review job postings
    • Review resumes and screen candidates for hiring managers
    • Prepare hiring managers for interviews by providing guidance, coaching and creating interview forms
    • Facilitate interviews and selection process
    • Provide guidance on hiring decisions
    • Complete all necessary pre-employment requirements
    • Prepare new hire or transfer contracts and paperwork
  • Utilize recruitment tools and manage hiring files including SAP SuccessFactors, Lever ATS, reporting spreadsheets, ETQ, and interview notes
  • Assist with high level sourcing and marketing strategies including search engine marketing, print, online, social media
  • Coordinate and participate at career fairs and industry events as required

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
  • A minimum of one year experience in a recruitment centric role ideally in an industrial environment
  • General knowledge and understanding of Human Resources practices or processesrequired including a basic understanding of applicable employment laws and legislation
  • Strong digital literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Previous experience with HR and Recruitment tools and databases required. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors and Lever ATS a plus

Pay Range: CAD $83,000 - $103,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
