Role Overview
Teck is looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Metallurgy Development Manager, the Control Systems Engineer is accountable for the effective operation and efficient maintenance of control systems infrastructure to support achievement of business objectives. This includes planning for and implementing new technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Ensure the performance and efficient maintenance of control systems infrastructure and associated applications to support achievement of business objectives
- Plan for and implement new control system technology
- Collaborate with leaders of other disciplines (process control, operations, process technical, maintenance, projects, etc.) to ensure optimal utilization of control systems and alignment on improvements
- Manage control system projects, budgets and capital portfolio
- Provide guidance as the Control System Subject Matter Expert for management of site-wide standards, as well as adherence to corporate and regulatory standards
- Draft technical reports and control system documentation
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education is required. Either a Bachelor of Engineering or a Diploma in Engineering Technology are acceptable. Specialization in Electrical, Computer Science, Control Systems, Process Control, Automation or Instrumentation are assets
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as a process control systems leader or relevant experience with industrial control systems. Sound knowledge of the industry's state-of-the-art developments and best practices
- Applicants must be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. ("EGBC") as this will be a condition of employment. P. Eng or P.L.Eng. are acceptable. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Experience with control system hardware/software, architectures, networking, and system management. This includes distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers and associated components
- Experience with control system programming and documentation
- Experience working with vendors and consultants
- Project management experience and skills are an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
