Onsite. Downtown Vancouver. Established Vancouver real estate developer. Temporary contract, 1-2 months, with potential to convert to a permanent role. Great opportunity for a junior-to-intermediate accountant to pick up development accounting exposure and get their foot in the door with a well-regarded local developer.

Who - the Company:
Our client is a well-established real estate developer based in Vancouver. Swim Recruiting has been engaged to help with this temporary search.

What - the Opportunity:
On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is seeking a Temporary Project Accountant to provide short-term accounting support while our client runs an internal search for a permanent hire. The person in this role most recently is leaving the company, and our client needs someone in place right away to keep things running.

This is a 1-2 month contract to start, with the possibility of converting into the permanent role depending on performance, fit, and business need.

Day to day, the Temporary Project Accountant will handle bank reconciliations, GST reconciliations, AP support, and intercompany chargebacks. On the development side, they'll help prepare invoice packages for bank draws and capital calls. There's also a general administrative accounting component - keeping documentation organized and supporting the broader accounting team's processes.

Who - the Candidate:
We're looking for a junior-to-intermediate accountant with 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally with a corporate accounting background and solid reconciliation skills. This is a support-oriented role rather than a full development accounting seat, so the priority is someone detail-oriented who can step in quickly, work independently, and get up to speed with minimal training.
Development, real estate, property management, or construction accounting experience is preferred but not required.

Strong Excel skills are required. Yardi Voyager experience is a plus.

Where:
Fully onsite, 5 days/week, in Vancouver, BC.

How Much:
$32-$37/hour, depending on background.
