Job Description
Terra Remote Sensing provides international geospatial data acquisition, processing and delivery in terrestrial, marine and transitional environments. We offer world-class expertise in digital airborne mapping, hydrographic charting, marine geophysics, and geomatics support services. Position Description
Terra is seeking to add an eager and bright intermediate programmer. Reporting to the manager, IT & R&D, there will be opportunity to work with Terra’s proprietary system TerraView and field apps with priority to work on identified AI development projects.
This role is suitable for someone that has the appropriate education along with 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities:
Some initial projects may include:
- Work on AI and ML processes,
- Working with MicroStation forms,
- Updating databases using JSON over HTTP,
- GUI design/updates for dataset interfaces,
- Perform editing for checklists specific to task entries,
- Other programming tasks assigned as they may arise.
Job Requirements
- Related undergraduate degree.
- 2-3 years’ applicable work experience.
- Proven experience in automating processes and using machine learning that makes data processing and business processes more efficient.
- Ability to work in C/C++ and C#
- Experience with Windows Forms
- Knowledge of JSON and working with HTTP
- Familiarity of Net, JavaScript, Python and with machine learning applications is an asset
- Some experience working on Android app development is a benefit
- Knowledge of Bentley MicroStation is helpful but not required
- Ability to use an organized and methodical approach to work efficiently with multiple projects. Keen attention to detail and a natural technical predisposition is a must.
- Proven experience helping a company through change with automation.
- A keen understanding of deliverable deadlines, commitments and time management.
- Self-driven and can work independently as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable to ask questions to meet expectations and schedules.
- GIS or surveying experience is an asset.
Location:
Mills Rd, North Saanich. This role may be eligible for hybrid work or remote work according to the Remote Work/ Work from Home policy
Job type:
Full-time 40 hours per week
Paid sick days, vacation days, wellness allowance, tuition reimbursement and benefits.
Wage: $62,000 to $75,000/year
