WSP is currently seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Designer to join our Buildings - Mechanical department, located at our Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Director, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, this position will be responsible for the plumbing design of a variety of institutional, light industrial, commercial, healthcare, and recreational buildings.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations in compliance with client standards, company standards, and applicable local code and regulation
  • Provide technical support to the design team and Project Managers
  • Provide knowledge of BC Plumbing Code
  • Drafting of plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD
  • On-site mechanical investigations, audits, and reviews as required
  • Writing technical and field investigation reports
  • Attend project design and construction meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Review equipment shop drawings and carry out construction administrative tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma from a technical university/college in mechanical technology or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge and experience of CSA Healthcare code is an asset
  • Proven expertise using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of MS Office 365 software tools
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • A \"can do\" attitude, able to work in a team environment

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $46,500 to $79,000
