As a Geotechnical Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside a collaborative Geotechnical Engineering team in Kelowna, supporting projects that shape critical infrastructure and sustainable communities. What you can expect to do here:
- Perform all aspects of geotechnical investigations for buildings, highways, bridges, dams, tunnels, retaining walls, slope stability, and municipal infrastructure;
- Coordinate and carry out field review of construction works and material testing of geotechnical materials;
- Perform soil index testing and concrete testing in our laboratories;
- Assist our senior team in preparing proposals and technical reports; and
- Conduct geotechnical engineering analysis.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate and completing a degree in Civil Engineering, or a graduate degree in Geo-Engineering discipline such as Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering;
- Prior experience in consulting geotechnical engineering is considered an asset; and
- Openness to work away from the office and on project sites from time to time;
- Valid Canadian driver's license and willingness to travel to remote worksites for multi-day assignments;
- Comfortable working under senior direction and collaborating in diverse environments.
Compensation
Salary range (in British Columbia): $24.50 - $32.25
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
