Express Employment Professionals (Cloverdale/Langley)'s client, one of western Canada's leading Produce wholesalers has an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Fresh Produce Quality Control Specialist. The industry leader is waiting for you!

Previous produce experience is a must. Anywhere from Grocery retail produce, warehousing-produce packaging facilities- someone who works on the farm or experience as a sous chef in a kitchen . The pay will be adjusted accordingly

This position is full time, Monday to Sunday (Flexible scheduling) Depending on where the volume is when we will schedule a person.  

Scheduled for:
1. Tuesday-Saturday
2. Sunday-Thursday.

Shifts Times Available:
9:00am - 5:30pm (Weekend shifts 7:00am - 3:30pm) Pay based on experience  

Responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability to review product upon arrival and report quality issues and deficiencies                
  • Assisting with coaching, teaching and training of staff referring to fresh produce and quality deficiencies
  • HACCP (Food Safety)
  • Inventory management
  • Coordination and monitoring of transportation referencing to temperature of product
  • Other projects and responsibilities as may arise
  • Managing inventory regarding product quality
  • Working with production supervisor and staff to meet customer specifications
  • Communicating with warehouse management and warehouse supervisors of day to day incoming and outgoing inventory

Qualifications:

  • An understanding of fresh produce and quality control. Must have the ability to review product upon arrival and recognize quality issues and deficiencies
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills – in order to report product condition
  • Team player, adaptable, and energetic with a positive professional attitude
  • Demonstrate ability to work unsupervised and meet key deadlines
  • Ability to work in high-paced environment
  • Good time management skills
  • Highly organized; knowledgeable and follow the company’s policies and procedures
  • Must be experienced with managing product inventory, FIFO program when required
