Job Description

Express Employment Professionals Cloverdale/Langley offices client who manufactures steel studs is seeking a someone to start from the the bottom and work their way up. Their location is Aldergrove is located just off a bus route on the Fraser Hwy.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The General Labourer is responsible for building and strapping loads as they are produced from by the line. they will be general on the lighter side except for special orders. you will be expected to be able to use a measuring tape and identify size/weight/gauge of product and mark it properly. General warehouse help such as picking customer orders, Use of overhead crane.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspect all equipment/Product prior to using/operating
Strapping of material on production carts (use of banding machine)
Assisting of supplying coils to production
Marking coils
Organizing trucking shipments
Counting, paperwork, quality control
Housekeeping – Ensure that the yard/warehouse is kept neat and clean

QUALIFICATIONS:

Dependable, excellent attendance record

Lifting up to 50lbs

Understanding of safety policies and their effects to personnel.
How to use chop saw and steel binding machines. (when trained)
Good communication skills with production personnel, and truck drivers.
Picking orders and strapping for properly safe loading, ensure strapping is tight so lifts don’t shift or fold.
WHMIS Training (our office, or their workplace can do it if required)
Crane Certification (they can do this)
Knowledge and skill to operate a forklift (certification required)

Additional:

Available for day or afternoon shift
Occasional Overtime may be required
Public Transit available.
