About the Opportunity

Yeti Refrigeration is looking for a full-time Estimator, based in Prince George, or Vernon, B.C.

Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial refrigeration/HVAC projects while supporting service teams with timely and well-documented deficiency quotes.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing cost estimates for refrigeration and HVAC installations, including equipment, materials, labour, and subcontractors
  • Developing clear bid proposals outlining scope, assumptions, exclusions, and pricing
  • Reviewing technician reports and customer requests to prepare accurate deficiency and repair quotes
  • Conducting material and labour takeoffs using drawings, specifications, and site details
  • Defining project scopes clearly to prevent execution gaps and ensure project clarity
  • Maintaining current pricing databases for equipment, parts, labour, and subcontractors
  • Incorporating supplier quotes and market cost changes into all estimates
  • Supporting value engineering efforts to propose cost-effective alternatives or system upgrades
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and service technicians throughout the estimating and quoting process
  • Supporting negotiations and client discussions during bid and quote follow-up
  • Preparing complete and organized estimate documentation to ensure smooth handoff to project and service teams
About You

To qualify, you will need strong technical knowledge of commercial and industrial refrigeration/HVAC systems, along with demonstrated experience preparing cost estimates, bids, or quotes for related projects. A minimum of 4 years of experience in refrigeration or HVAC estimating (or a closely related project coordination role) will also be essential. A valid driver's license with the ability to visit local job sites is required.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Diploma/degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with digital takeoff tools such as Bluebeam
  • Experience working with estimating or project management software (e.g., Procore or Accubid)
  • Strong documentation and pricing database management skills
  • Comfort interacting with suppliers, subcontractors, technicians, and clients
