Job Description
- 6-month DevOps Engineer contract role.

As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add a Senior DevOps engineer to their retail technology team, helping to deliver RFID technology. You will architect and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, and drive GitOps practices across engineering teams. From implementing observability solutions and managing SLAs and SLOs to integrating DevSecOps practices into pipelines and leading incident response, this role sits at the intersection of platform reliability, automation, and engineering velocity. You will partner closely with engineering, QA, and product teams to deliver on the RFID roadmap while mentoring engineers and shaping DevOps strategy at an organizational level.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily in office environment, 4 days a week in office.
You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering, with strong hands-on expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent, including modern deployment strategies such as blue/green and canary releases.
- Strong background in observability and reliability engineering, with experience implementing monitoring solutions such as Datadog, Splunk, or Prometheus and managing SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes, GitOps practices, and strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
This role pays between $80-95 per hour.
