Job Description

An established manufacturer of custom cabinetry with an excellent reputation for design, service and quality has is seeking an experienced Cabinetry CAD Draftsperson to join our team in the production of cabinets for high-end residential kitchen projects. 

We are looking for the right fit with our existing team of qualified designers, sales and production staff. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level with a leader in the cabinet industry. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural drawings and all other incoming design information to produce accurate, complete and production level CAD drawings using Cabinet Vision.
  • Prepare drawings for all cabinet products and purchased items, produce cut lists and CNC programming as needed for all parts required, examine drawings for conformity and errors
  • Produce drawings for approval by the customer and finalize production CAD drawings, Produce and forward all other required technical information, including instructions or notes.
  • Produce material take offs and coordinate with purchasing to ensure the optimal material choices based on availability, suitability for production and engineering performance. Directly order specialty materials for projects and inventory, record received materials and allocate to projects.
  • Recommend engineering solutions to address any potential production or installation issues to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Process any alterations and resolve issues, update all drawings used in product development, construction and installation as changes occur
  • Coordinate closely with the shop floor regarding details and addressing production challenges.
  • Learn how to gain design process efficiencies by using automated CV scripts to automate cabinet design adjustments, add or modify parts, and manage assemblies.
  • Continuously streamline and improve CAD processes to gain efficiencies and improve quality.  
  • Build a customer-focused culture that delivers high customer satisfaction and brand value through high quality, aesthetically pleasing product, delivered on time, with great communication. 

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3-5 years of relevant design experience in cabinetry or millwork  manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Cabinet Vision developing both submittal and shop/production drawings; past proficiency with Cabinet Vision CAD
  • Working knowledge of cabinet/millwork processes and materials (ie. sheet goods and hardware)
  • Past experience working with CNC production technology preferred
  • Proven organizational skills combined with a creative, problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent communication skills that help you collaborate in a fast-moving organization
