Canfor is currently seeking a Chipper Operator/Labourer to join our team at the Skookumchuck Whole Log Chipping facility. This role offers strong earning potential, steady hours, home every night and weekends off. With close proximity to the Skookumchuck Pulp Mill, the facility maximizes resource utilization and transportation efficiency while supporting local employment and regional economic growth.

You will be working alongside the best and brightest in the business with an innovative leader in the forest products industry. This position is a role with a day shift schedule, Monday - Thursday, with 10 hour shifts.

A day in the life of the Chipper Labourer includes:
  • Operate Hog truck and Water Truck safely and efficiently on a regular basis
  • Assist with chipper knife changes and chipper flail replacement on a regular basis
  • Haul Hog off site to Pulp Mill if required
  • Water site with Water Truck as required
  • Operate Chipper, 4WD Log Loader/Excavator safely and efficiently as required
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs and maintenance of chipper and other equipment on site

For this role, you'll come equipped with:
  • Experience in a team environment who works well in a small, close‑knit crew
  • A strong safety mindset and commitment to safe work practices
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • A positive, reliable attitude and pride in doing quality work
  • Previous experience with heavy mobile equipment in an industrial or forestry environment is an asset


The hourly rate for this position is: $35.29, with potential of increase to $40.56 following completion of training.
