Job Description

Established commercial/residential millwork operation serving the local BC market is looking for an experienced Senior Installer to join our established operation. We are looking for a team player who will uphold our vision and propel us to the next phase of expansion and development as an organization. 

Our Senior Installers are the primary service providers for all on site installations and represent the follow through capabilities of the company on a day-to-day basis. You will carry out assigned installation projects from start to finish, in accordance with design/production specifications. You will ensure the highest level of installation standards are maintained while ensuring quality and efficiency. At all times you will be expected to carry yourself in a professional manner, exhibiting the upmost respect for the customer’s property and project expectations. 

Senior Installers report to the department lead and, in turn, take responsibility for managing the more junior assistants assigned to their team. You will be expected to prepare and control the on-site work environment and ensure safe work practices are being followed by yourself and assigned assistants. 

You will be expected to be organized and self managing with only periodic supervision. You will be dealing with a large number of stakeholders, from site managers to subcontracted trades to vendors and other employees. You will be expected to plan your work schedule to ensure on time completion of projects, delegating effectively to junior staff to maximize efficiency. 

You will be expected to be an excellent communicator in person, by phone and online to efficiently resolve concerns related to the job site and on time completion of the assigned project. 

To fully qualify for and be successful in this position you must have:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ of experience of commercial/retail millwork installation with at least 2 years’ in a project leadership capacity
  • Excellent carpentry/joinery skills with a full knowledge of joinery and installation procedures used in commercial/residential millwork projects
  • A full understanding of architectural blueprints/drawings and installation notations
  • Proven ability to complete installation assignments on time and on budget
  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees, subcontractors, and on-site stakeholders to achieve results
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, organized, with strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You must have a current, valid BC Drivers License and your own suitable transportation.
  • You must have your own portable tools for use on assigned sites across the lower mainland.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
