Job Summary

The Labour Market Information, Reporting and Evaluation branch (LMIRE) is comprised of three units: Labour Market and Immigration Analysis (LMIA), Forecasting and the Performance Reporting, Evaluation and User Support (PREUS). Collectively the group is the is the center of expertise in the development, interpretation, application and dissemination of labour market information in the British Columbia government. The branch develops labour market forecasts, analyses, insights and advice to support informed decision-making within the Division/Ministry, in other ministries and outside of government. The branch also provides expertise in the reporting and evaluation of program results from the Ministries programs funded under the WDA.

The Director, Performance Reporting, Evaluation and User Support, leads the development, implementation, and reporting framework to assess the impacts of various employment and skills training programs and activities in relation to ministry, provincial government and federal government priorities and accountabilities.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree in social sciences, data sciences, statistics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience leading data collection, management, analysis and reporting.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in program evaluation and performance measurement.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience leading business transformation initiatives and projects with a significant technology component from planning through to implementation, working closely with IT staff.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience managing and prioritizing systems development to meet evolving program needs, working closely with IT staff and program areas.


Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience leading data collection, management analysis and reporting within the public sector.
  • Experience in the management of financial resources and staff.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with other jurisdictions, ministries, executive, colleagues and staff.
