The Opportunity
Innovate and Lead - In this role, you'll work at the forefront of SR&ED strategy within a Transportation Systems team that spans Rail & Transit, Aviation, Ports, Marine & Coastal, and Transit Bus & Fleet. You'll shape how complex technical advancements are recognized, defended, and documented, helping project teams secure critical innovation funding while enabling truly transformational infrastructure work across Canada.
Your Impact
- Lead the full SR&ED delivery process for Transportation Systems initiatives, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and clarity in all claim components.
- Uncover eligible R&D activity by facilitating deep-dive technical interviews and guiding engineering leaders in articulating technological challenges and advancements.
- Develop high-quality, defensible SR&ED technical narratives that clearly demonstrate uncertainty, experimentation, and innovation.
- Represent clients with confidence during CRA technical reviews, responding to questions, defending eligibility, and supporting successful outcomes.
- Build and optimize SR&ED documentation frameworks that strengthen compliance, consistency, and audit readiness across all Transportation Systems business lines.
- Identify complementary non-dilutive funding opportunities and help structure multi-program funding strategies.
- Collaborate with the national WSP SR&ED team to harmonize best practices, training, and corporate-level compliance tools.
- Drive a meeting-focused, engagement-rich process-leading discussions, asking the right questions, and helping teams articulate the real technical depth in their work.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, paired with hands-on experience solving complex technical challenges.
- 5+ years of direct SR&ED delivery experience, including successful claims and CRA review support.
- Deep working knowledge of CRA SR&ED policy, eligibility guidelines, and tax legislation.
- Strong understanding of engineering, software, environmental, digital, or AI-related SR&ED pathways.
- Proven ability to translate advanced technical work into concise, high-impact narratives.
- Skilled at managing senior technical stakeholders and guiding them through structured eligibility discussions.
- Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable navigating fast-paced engineering environments.
- Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative-with the ability to lead, influence, and foster strong relationships.

Compensation:
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $147,500 - $195,400
MB & ON: $134,600 - $184,600
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $133,200 - $176,900
