The Opportunity

Innovate and Lead - This is your opportunity to shape the future of occupational hygiene and safety in Western Canada. As a Senior Occupational Hygienist, you'll be at the forefront of technical delivery and strategic growth. You'll lead multidisciplinary projects, mentor junior professionals, and drive business development initiatives that expand our impact across industries and communities. From proposal development to client engagement, your leadership will help define the next chapter of our OHS practice.

Your Impact
  • Lead complex occupational hygiene and safety projects in across Western Canada, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to grow our OHS portfolio, including proposal writing, client outreach, and opportunity tracking
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability
  • Deliver risk assessments and exposure evaluations for biological, chemical, and physical hazards
  • Interpret and apply regulatory frameworks (e.g. WorkSafeBC) and Standards and Guideline (CSA, ANSI, ACGIH, NIOSH) to guide client compliance and safety strategies
  • Prepare and deliver training programs, technical reports, and client presentations
  • Represent WSP in professional communities (e.g., AIHA), contributing to thought leadership and industry advancement

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 8 to 15 years of progressive experience across occupational hygiene, safety, hazardous materials, and indoor air quality consulting.
  • Advanced academic grounding through an undergraduate or graduate degree in Occupational/Environmental Hygiene, Occupational Health, or a related discipline.
  • CIH or ROH designation (or eligibility within 12 months), with CRSP certification and WorkSafeBC Level S as valuable additional assets.
  • Strong business development acumen, with a proven ability to build client relationships and prepare winning proposals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in project management, including financial oversight, scheduling, and change management.
  • Hands-on field experience supported by expertise in developing risk assessments, management plans, abatement specifications, and exposure control plans, as well as conducting audits.
  • Skilled in project planning, risk mitigation, and engaging diverse stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Comfortable travelling regionally and working in remote or physically demanding environments, supported by an unrestricted Class 5 license, personal vehicle, and a strong driving record.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:$93,700 - $124,200

MB & ON:$85,500 - $117,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC:$84,700 - $112,400
