Senior Financial Analyst

Join a fast-paced, entrepreneurial finance team supporting a diverse group of businesses across Western Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytical finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a multifaceted industry portfolio that may include sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, tourism, and seasonal services. This is a full-time, 10-month contract based at the company's downtown Vancouver head office. You’ll work with a collaborative, tight-knit team that values curiosity, ownership, and a good laugh when the spreadsheets are done. Our client is a leading, safety-driven organization in the transport and logistics industry, with a strong footprint across Western Canada. Their work spans several exciting verticals, including remote infrastructure support, specialized tourism operations, and emergency response coordination. With a head office based in downtown Vancouver, they also support various operational teams spread across the province — including in coastal and mountainous regions. This position is part of their core Finance & Administration group, supporting the parent company as well as a fast-growing, high-adventure subsidiary.

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting month-end close and AR operations while also jumping in on a wide range of finance initiatives, from system implementations to tax support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, and appreciates working in an environment where no two days are quite the same.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading monthly and quarterly reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis for several active entities.
• Supporting the preparation of ASPE-compliant financial statements.
• Assisting with corporate tax filings, cash management, and banking tasks.
• Managing customer credit, invoicing, and collections.
• Participating in systems and workflow improvement projects.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet reporting deadlines.
• Providing ad hoc analysis and taking on special projects as needed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable finance professional. You’re a resourceful, tech-savvy accounting or finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment. You bring sound judgment, a strong attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude to everything you do.

Ideal qualifications include:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 2+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• CPA designation in progress or recently completed.
• Strong Excel skills; comfort with pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations.
• Experience with Sage 300 (a strong asset) or other mid-market ERPs.
• Great communication skills, with an ability to partner cross-functionally.
• Comfortable juggling priorities and owning your piece of the puzzle.
• Experience in seasonal or multi-entity organizations is a plus.
• A sense of humour and appreciation for casual Fridays all week.

Our client is headquartered in the heart of downtown Vancouver and is open to a hybrid work model once training has been fully completed.

$85,000 - $95,000 base, RRSP, and full extended health and dental benefits. Candidates at various levels of experience will be considered, and salary will be commensurate with the quality, depth, and breadth of FP&A and accounting skills, as well as education and professional development.
