Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Rbs Application Operations, the Senior ITSM Business Analyst plays a key role in Teck's IT Service Management (ITSM) program by assisting in the development, improvement, and integration of ITSM processes and ServiceNow features. This position combines business analysis, process design, and governance assistance to guarantee the ITSM program provides measurable advantages and supports steady operational results.

The Senior ITSM BA will engage with key ITSM areas-including Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, and CMDB-collecting requirements, documenting procedures, developing user stories, and assisting with testing and deployment efforts. The position also supports coordinating governance committees, ensuring that decisions, actions, and materials are thoroughly prepared and monitored.

This is an initial 12-month contract to start with strong possibility of extension based on program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead requirements gathering for ITSM improvements, working closely with process owners, SMEs, and end users.
  • Detail current state and future state processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Convert business requirements into comprehensive user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for ServiceNow delivery teams.
  • Assist with ITSM process assessments and redesign efforts involving Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, and CMDB.
  • Validate that solutions meet business requirements through involvement in testing (SIT, UAT) and release readiness.
  • Ensure alignment to ITIL practices and Teck's ITSM framework standards.
  • Assist the ServiceNow platform team in defining functional requirements for enhancements and incremental improvements.
  • Review feature builds, prototypes, and release notes to ensure business alignment and impact awareness.
  • Support communication, documentation, and training activities for new or updated ServiceNow features.
  • Work closely with ITSM process owners, ServiceNow developers, the ITSM Project Manager, and operational teams.
  • Engage business collaborators to validate requirements and ensure understanding of upcoming changes.
  • Act as a trusted partner in ITSM continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within ITSM or IT operations.
  • Solid knowledge of ITIL processes and experience assisting with Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, and CMDB tasks.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing acceptance criteria, process maps, and functional specifications.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
  • Strong facilitation, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Superb communication and collaborator engagement abilities.
  • ITIL Foundation certification a plus.
  • Background in mining, energy, or asset-intensive industries an asset.
