Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Bulkley Lodge.

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Resident Care, employees in this position provide professional, safe effective nursing that is in accordance with Continuing Care goals and objectives, to ensure that the resident's state of health reaches maximum level of function (health: state of physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing, not merely absence of infirmity or disease).

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 06:00 to 18:00, Rotating

New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $41.42 - $59.52/hour

Bulkley Lodge is a stand-alone, long-term care home located in central Smithers, approximately five minutes from Bulkley Valley District Hospital. There are 53 beds including two respite beds plus three short stay beds. Bulkley Lodge provides daily therapeutic recreation services. Pastoral and spiritual services are provided by the Smithers Ministerial Group with regular, on-site spiritual care. There is a volunteer program in place to facilitate resident participation in social activities and outings. There is also an on-site, integrated community Adult Day Program, operating 7 days a week.

Smithers has a population of 5,401 (2021) local residents and is located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley surrounded by three mountain ranges that provide a backdrop for the towns' Alpine setting. Check out Smithers where there is always something new to experience.

Qualfications
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Current knowledge in the field of geriatric nursing.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with staff, residents physicians and the public.
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of professional groups.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
