Expected Salary Range: $82,108.00 - $102,635.00 - $128,294.00

Our typical hiring range will be +/- 5% of the midpoint shown above

Job Summary:

The iSports Product Owner, iGaming, leads the delivery of new content specifically related to sports betting on the PlayNow Sports platforms This role works closely with product delivery teams and vendors to ensure new products and enhancements are prioritized and delivered efficiently and in accordance with the product roadmap and BCLC's strategy and requirements.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Acts as the primary business stakeholder representative to the product delivery team and identifies and refines operational processes with the goal of increasing speed to market while maintaining auditability and fulfilling compliance requirements.
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders in order to prioritize and manage the delivery of sports betting backlog work, maintaining a focus on an improved player experience in the context of sports betting.
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding and familiarity with compliance related to sports betting, responsible gambling and social responsibility policy and recommendations in all aspects of conducting business.
  • Manages relationships with current and potential vendors specifically related to sports betting to proactively maintain operational efficiencies with delivery and manage any issues.
  • Collaborates with the Product team to understand the sports betting roadmap and represents the business by communicating the roadmap to internal stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of content within agreed upon vendor timelines.
  • Maintains an understanding of the competitor landscape in order to make recommendations to inform the direction of the portfolio.
  • Manages the product enhancement roadmap to bring enhancements and change requests to market.
  • Conducts business and user acceptance testing as required.
  • Advocates for the product portfolio both internally and externally.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
  • A degree or diploma in a related discipline such as business, ecommerce or information technology;
  • 4-6 years of current progressive experience in a product management and/or software development related field, including 2 to 3 years' experience in the internet gaming industry;
  • Stakeholder management experience;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Technical Requirements
  • An understanding of project management techniques and strong organizational skills;
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills and time management;
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex and technical details;
  • Understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment as it relates to internet gaming;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business situations, develop solutions, and provide recommendations;
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and drive innovation;
  • Understanding of popular gaming mechanics, trends and platforms.
