The Opportunity
Northern Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Prince George Primary Care Clinic team. This NP will travel in and out to the Kwadacha and Tsay Keh Dene communities. This part-time position (0.7 FTE) offers flexibility and the chance to provide longitudinal primary care to patients of all ages. The NP will attach a patient panel and contribute to a collaborative, culturally safe care environment supported by physicians, other nurse practitioners, primary care assistants, and an interprofessional team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver longitudinal primary care to a diverse patient population.
Attach patients per the Provincial Attachment System (PAS) guidelines.
Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for documentation and care coordination.
Collaborate with a supportive team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
Participate in team-based care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Travel to the communities of the Kwadacha and Tsay Keh Dene approx. 570km North of Prince George.
Qualifications & Skills
Eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a Nurse Practitioner.
Experience in primary care across the lifespan.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed care.

The Tsay Keh Dene (TKD) Nation is a Sekani community in Northern BC located at the northern end of Williston Lake, approximately 567 km north of Prince George. Historically known as Ingenika Point, this community is part of the Tse Keh Nay people residing in the Rocky Mountain Trench.
The Kwadacha Nation (Tsek'ene) is commonly known as Fort Ware. Kwadacha is located 570 km North of Prince George BC at the confluence of the Fox, the Kwadacha, and Finlay rivers in the Rocky Mountain Trench.

Salary Range:
New Graduate NP - $149,382
1 Year Experience - $156,851
2 Years Experience - $164,320

Qualfications
Education and Experience
-Completion of BCCNM approved Master's degree level nurse practitioner program.
-Eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

-Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients/clients/residents and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, self-care and prognosis.
-Ability to collaborate, consult with and formally refer patients/clients/residents to physicians and other health professionals when appropriate.
-Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices; ability to introduce education and evidence-based research.
-Ability to assess and recognize population health trends; ability to plan and implement strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion.
-Ability to implement and evaluate planned change.
-Ability to supervise others and evaluate the care they deliver.
-Ability to lead a team and work within a team.
-Ability to self-direct, interact, and adapt effectively with other professionals in complex, dynamic situations.
-Ability to transfer knowledge, teach, coach and mentor others.
