Manager – Public Practice
Location: Surrey, B.C.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
About the Firm
Our client is a well-established mid-sized public practice firm with a diverse client base ranging from owner-managed businesses and professionals to not-for-profit organizations and growing private companies. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Manager to join their leadership team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys client advisory work, staff mentorship, and managing engagements while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review compilation and review engagement.
- Oversee the preparation and review of corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and serve as a trusted business advisor.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met.
- Identify tax planning and business advisory opportunities for clients.
- Mentor, train, and develop senior accountants, staff accountants, and CPA students.
- Review working papers and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Assist partners with practice management, client development, and special projects.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
Qualifications
- CPA designation in good standing.
- 5+ years of progressive public practice experience.
- Experience managing review engagements, compilations, and tax -engagements.
- Experience supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-Proficiency with CaseWare, TaxCycle, Profile, and Microsoft Office Suite.
