Our Resources subsector, a core part of WSP's Energy, Resources and Industry (ERI) sector, supports clients across Canada in advancing major industrial, metals and mining projects. Over decades, this team has built comprehensive expertise-from economic studies and feasibility assessments to detailed design, procurement, commissioning, industrial programming, and mine closure.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Terrace, British Columbia. In this role, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of complex heavy industrial projects, ensuring safe, reliable, code-compliant design and successful project delivery.
Your Impact
- Deliver structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures supporting heavy industrial and mining facilities.
- Develop and review foundation system designs that ensure long-term performance and safety.
- Produce structural drawings, calculations, and high-quality construction documentation.
- Visit client sites to conduct construction reviews, field verifications, and design assessments.
- Collaborate closely with clients, internal design partners, and contractors to support project delivery.
- Prepare and contribute to technical reports and proposal documents.
- Support project management activities to help ensure work is delivered on schedule and within budget.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia.
- 5-8 years of structural engineering design experience, ideally in consulting environments supporting industrial sectors such as mining or processing.
- Knowledge of CSA design standards and National/Provincial Building Codes.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD-PRO, S-Frame, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.
- Working familiarity with AutoCAD; experience with Revit Structure is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and adapt to evolving project needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- French language skills are an asset.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $85,100 - $112,800
MB & ON: $77,700 - $107,000
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $76,900 - $102,100
