Inside Sales for Plumbing Distributor

Job Description

Express Employment Professionals, Delta, is hiring for our client company who is a premier distributor of industrial parts servicing the plumbing and other related industries, and we are looking for a dedicated Inside Sales Representative to join our client company's Delta branch. In this role, you will drive sales growth across Delta and the surrounding region by developing new accounts and strengthening existing customer relationships. Your primary focus will be receiving, creating, and processing sales orders, drafting correspondence, and coordinating service requirements. You will also serve as the main point of contact for customers on matters of pricing, scheduling, and delivery.

We are seeking an individual with prior experience in plumbing or industrial sales who excels at building lasting customer partnerships. Familiarity with the fire protection market or general plumbing is a strong asset. Proficiency with computers is essential.

Key Responsibilities
* Process customer sales orders received by phone, fax, email, or through sales representatives; accurately enter all picking details into the system and forward non-stock material requirements to purchasing.
* Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns by collaborating with outside sales, accounting/credit, materials control, and warehouse teams; suggest corrective actions and process improvements.
* Prepare and communicate sales and delivery quotations, including product specifications; coordinate with warehouse staff to schedule customer deliveries and conduct timely follow-ups.
* Proactively apply sales techniques to grow revenue by promoting complementary, substitute, and specially priced products; initiate customer contact as needed and report on account activity.
* Monitor direct shipments from suppliers to customers to ensure on-time delivery and billing; handle documentation for customer returns to stock or suppliers.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products and services.
* Complete all required or requested training.
* Support physical inventory counts and reception duties on an as-needed basis.
* Represent the company at special sales events and trade shows.
* Generate and submit reports as requested.

Qualifications

* Minimum of 2 years in customer service, sales, or warehouse operations, ideally with increasing responsibility in a relevant industry; a technical background in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, or general plumbing is highly valued.
* Demonstrated ability in business development.
* College diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical studies, or equivalent industry experience.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
* Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Aptitude for understanding and conveying technical product information clearly.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.
* Strong mathematical aptitude.
* Self-motivated, highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and execute a plan of action.
* Capable of working autonomously, setting and achieving goals with minimal supervision.

Salary is $63,500/ year DOE. Benefits after probationary period.
