Job Description

The Distribution Centres, located in both Delta and Kamloops, have entry-level auxiliary opportunities in Shipping, Receiving, Assembly and Inventory Control.

We are accepting applications for additional auxiliary warehouse positions in our fast paced distribution center located in Vancouver. Shift work is required including night shift.

ENTRY LEVEL QUALIFICATION FOR WAREHOUSE WORKERS

Be at least 19 years of age
Be able to legally work in Canada
Be able to provide excellent customer service
Be in good physical condition
Be able to identify sequences of numbers (essential)
Be able to lift cases to various heights while assembling orders for our retail stores (core component of the position and is in accordance with WCB regulations)
Auxiliary positions are on-call, which means that hours of work are not guaranteed and will be subject to availability. You may or may not work full 35 hour weeks. As you work more hours, you'll gain more seniority, allowing more opportunities for more hours of work.

About BC Liquor Distribution Branch

In British Columbia, there are two branches of government that have responsibility for the liquor industry: the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB) and the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB). Both of these branches currently report to the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. The LCLB issues licences for making and selling liquor and supervises the service of liquor in licensed establishments. The LDB, under the authority of the Liquor Distribution Act, has the sole right to purchase beverage alcohol, both in and out of British Columbia, in accordance with the Importation of Intoxicating Liquors Act (Canada). The LDB with over 3,500 employees operates approximately 200 government liquor stores throughout the province; two distribution centres, one in Vancouver and one in Kamloops; and a head office facility in Vancouver. The LDB also authorizes the sale of liquor in rural communities by Rural Agency Stores. The LDB was named one of BC's Top 50 Employers by for 2009 by Mediacorp Canada Inc.
