Established in 1975 in Terrace, BC, Coast Mountain College has five regional campuses serving 34 communities, 21 of which are First Nations communities.  The College provides students with innovative programs that lead to sustainable careers for people in the north. Coast Mountain College campuses are located in Hazelton, Haida Gwaii, Smithers, Prince Rupert and Terrace.

Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services & CFO, the Director, IT/CIO is responsible for the strategic planning, directing and coordinating all technology operations in support of and to enhance the student and employee digital experience. Responsibilities include contributing and collaborating directly with the leadership team and decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support technology solutions for all aspects of Coast Mountain College. This role participates as of CMTN’s leadership team who oversee day-to-day operations as well as the execution of strategic priorities across the College.

The ideal candidate is an innovative leader with deep experience running all aspects of IT in an organization. Experience within a college, university or public sector organization is preferred. The preferred candidate is a true collaborator who brings outstanding relationship skills such that they are viewed as a trusted advisor throughout the organization. The ideal candidate also is committed to the highest standards of operational excellence and personal accountability, with the drive, integrity and systems thinking ability to contribute to the strategic directions of Coast Mountain College. The compensation for this position is $151,380 plus benefits.

This position is based in Terrace, BC, with some travel required to Coast Mountain College’s other main campuses in Prince Rupert, Smithers and Hazelton.
