Position Summary
Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking an experienced Coordinator, Training & Process Improvement to join our Relational Security Services department

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, The Coordinator, Training & Process Improvement (RSS) is a key member of the Relational Security Services team that reports to the Manager, Relational Security Services. The Coordinator is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and delivering a comprehensive training program for Northern Health Authority Relational Security Model (RSM) that supports the professional and effective delivery of patient centric health care security services.

Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Grade 12 diploma plus specialized training in security & safety, criminology, emergency management, or another related field.
• Five (5) years of supervisory and/or management experience in security/safety related role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). Including three (3) years experience providing training, preferably in a healthcare security setting.
• Membership with IAHSS (International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety).
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
• Must have valid Basic Security Licence (BST) with Advanced Security Training (AST) endorsement along with Occupational First Aid (OFA2). Stipends may be available.
• Working knowledge of security management/operations and familiarity with law enforcement issues in a health care setting.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.

• Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services.
• An interest in teaching, coaching, managing and mentoring staff.
• Proficiency with computers and MS Office applications.
• Ability to manage human and physical resources within an operating environment.
• Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector.
• A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Effective interpersonal skills.
• The ability to successfully interact with key internal and external agencies and stakeholders.
• Valid Canadian drivers license equivalent to a BC Class 5 drivers license without any graduated licensing restrictions.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
