Location New Westminster/Coquitlam Campus Salary Range
Hourly: $52.41 to $114.65 per hour Per Three Credit Course: $7,716.
Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES
The Chemistry Department offers a wide range of preparatory and first- and second-year university transfer courses. For additional program information, please refer to the Douglas College Chemistry Department page on the Douglas College website. The successful candidate(s) will be able to teach in both classroom and laboratory environments.
As an instructor in the Chemistry department, you will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College Chemistry courses. You will also be responsible for planning, organizing and managing learning activities and resources, providing academic advice to learners and maintaining quality learner-centered instruction.
The successful candidate(s) must have completed an earned degree in a major area of Chemistry (minimum M.Sc. with Ph.D. preferred), must have teaching experience at the post-secondary level and must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. The ability to teach some of our second year chemistry courses would be an asset.
Strong verbal and written English language skills are also required.
Applicants will be considered for this position based upon their experience, qualifications and availability.
Additional Information
The Chemistry Department in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Douglas College is accepting applications for contract instructors to teach starting in the Fall 2026 semester.
The successful candidate(s) must be able to teach face-to-face classes at either one of the two Douglas College Campuses, in New Westminster and Coquitlam.
