Job Description

West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Williams Lake Plywood is currently recruiting for Weekend Cleanup Employees (8 to 16 hours per week).

You'll Do:
  • Required to remove wood waste and other debris from within and around equipment and dispose of it in the hog.
  • Entering into equipment and removing debris manually using tools like shovels and rakes and sometimes by hand.
  • Use compressed air or water hoses to aid in cleaning equipment where entering the equipment is not possible or adequate cleanup requires these extra measures.
  • Cleaning hydraulic tanks
  • Performing fire watch activities (monitoring welding and other hot work to ensure a fire does not occur and to immediately address any incipient fires that start as the result of hot work
  • Strict adherence to company safety standards and Safe work practices, such as Lockouts and pre-task hazard assessments.
  • On your feet for an extended amount of time.
  • Work in a safe manner using proper PPE

You have:
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Availability to work Saturday and Sunday
  • Good physical condition
  • Ability to work on repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work as a positive team member
  • Strong commitment to following all safety guidelines and protocols, wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), and taking precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Reliable and Excellent work ethic
  • Desire to learn, grow and succeed
  • No experience required
  • Must be turning 18 with in the year.

Compensation Package:
  • The hourly pay rate for this position is $34.86 per hour for labour skills.
